K-Line and Model Power had a fair assortment of reasonably priced peoples when they were still corporations.  A bit of scrolling on Ebay could yield some sets.  I painted up a set of MTH unpainted figures last year and I'd say they're dwarves compared with K-Line, Model Power, Life-Like and Plasticville citizens by the way.

I have multiple sized citizens on my railroad, placing the NBA players towards the layout edge, and the OZ extras towards the back.  LEMAX seems to fit the bill for budget-mended folks, but they tend to be large.  I will buy Woodland Scenics figures only when I need certain personnel, like train crews, and rarely do you see them at sale prices (even after market).  Once in a while I will splurge for W. Britains figures, again, being scene specific.  At shows, there is always someone with metal figures, and I try to populate my railroad piece-meal.

Got to mention that I spotted a Fat Albert gang set, at YORK.  Too bad they were G scale, or I would have made a junk-yard just for them.

here is the site on ebay I use it takes a while to get but price is good so far all I have gotten is the sitting ones for my passenger cars and I had to cut there feet off but other than that all was fine with them and there prepainted

Well, by now, most of you know that our large layout is Postwar Lionel O27 with Plasticville. We are considering replacing the  Plasticville Citizens with more traditional or, at best, better looking people.

Looking at Ebay, we see that Lionel and some lead figures are almost "out of our budget".

SO, here's the question: What people do you have on your layout and what suggestions would you have for our people search?
