Bob is correct, this is how Lionel did it with the dual motor F3 diesels. As long as both E units sequence reliably, then you can just get them in proper sequence and run them that way, but like Bob said, if its going to be a more long term set up. Its best if one E unit controled both engines. Mike

It is also possible to run them both from the same e-unit, which guarantees that they will never get out of sync. That requires running at least three wires (field and two brushes) between the units. If this is to be permanent, I recommend ty-wrapping the wires over the tops of the couplers. To be able to switch back and forth between coupled and independent operation, use a pair of connectors in the cable between the units. You can leave both e-units in place and wired up. To run both off one e-unit, just cycle the other e-unit into neutral and then shut it off.
Put both units on the track one at a time, sequence the e-units, and lock the e-units in the direction of travel.

I have two silver 2023 A units that i want to lash together. One facing forward and the other facing backwards. My question is...Is there a way to have one of trains start in reverse rather then forward when i power it on? Can i reverse the wiring on the e unit? How could this work? Or do both of them have to face forward.
Thank you in advance for your help. I am hoping that connecting these together will make quite the powerful 2023.
