When the last two train-heavy hobby shops in the Richmond, Virginia area closed (one retirement, one move-away) I thought "Oh great, NOW what am I gonna do?"
Well, now neither I nor anyone else has to worry. A new place has opened in the former "Train Town" location in Ashland, Va., 15 miles north of Richmond called "Tiny Tim's Toys." I was in there Saturday and there's a good selection of Lionel and MTH products plus a good assortment of "How Ordinary", um, 'scuse me, HO trains.
The address is 104 S. Railroad Ave. Ashland Va. 23005. Phone (804) 368-0063
Right in the center of town next to the CSX, former RF&P mainline, so not only do you get toy trains but you get to spot real ones.
Pay them a visit, you won't be disappointed. By the way, I picked up a vintage Lionel Oppenheimer Sausage Casing car to add to my meat train. Got a good deal on it too.
