The horn on my Lionel #400 B&O RDC car sounds high pitched. I've been told there's an adjusting screw on the back that should alter the tone, but the only thing I find there is something that seems to take an allen wrench. When I try to turn it it is really tight and I don't want to break anything. Any thoughts?

If you do get it to move, be sure to keep track of how far and in which direction you adjust it, so that you can get back to where you started. The adjustment is for a contact inside that connects and disconnects an electromagnet. If you get lost and adjust it too far away from its working range, you can destroy it.
I doubt that you will be able to change the pitch.

In this case it's a risky task.
If it's not broke don't fix it applies here.

Thanks, guys. Guess I'll take your advice and just learn to live with the high pitch.
