Is Atlas ever going to make some big Diesels? The dash-8's were great but how about some 6 wheel versions. Atlas makes a great product but is really falling behind with the younger prototypical crowd. I need some dash 9's and sd -70 macs. I run tmcc and it makes me sick every year MTH releases another set of modern Diesels. And while I am complaing, what is with Lionels engineers? They look like they are about to run into another train. Someone at lionel should be shot for selling a 400.00+ engine with figs like that in them.

I'm personally hoping someone will start making some NEW smaller 027 diesels, maybe 12 inches long. And since I've designed and buildt a 12 inch lonh U-boat and a 13 inch long SD90 MAC, it can be done and it can be done so they look good too... not like most of the early modern Railking locos which were like bricks or shoeboxes on wheels. The one good they did was the 14 inch SD90 MAC from around 1999. Of course, now Railking has gone scale and it looks like Rugged Rails has been dropped.

And actually since EVERYONE is making scale this and that, it would sort of nice if at least ONE company could recognize there might be a market for a well proportioned scaled down modern diesel and some modern type rolling stock to match - other than the same ol' stuff made from the same old tooling that's been around since 1950.

I personally prefer the SD-40-2's Lionel released in the 80's. What a classic- two pullmor motors, magnetracton, buzzing e unit, and just a horn. Unfortunately, I think the days are gone when we see anything produced without a serious circut board inside. I do agree however that modern equipment need to be produced, perhaps even emphasized in today's market. Atlas is doing fine by producing four axle raod power. We already have Lionel, MTH and now K-Line porducing big six axle road power. That is enough. Variety enhances, flooding hurts our hobby. I believe that we should be encouraging all the manufactuers to focus more on modern rolling stock, scale and tinplate size. There are some beautiful molds right now that are being underused. A TV or stack train can look just as colorful and graceful as any traditional boxcar train, but better behind modern road power, reguardless of axle count.

Do a smaller GE switcher like a B-46/46-1GE733 or B-50/50-1GE733 (23 or 25 Ton)

Lionel DID get hit by a train. That court case with its insane judgement (Lionel was guilty of something but not $41 MILLION worth) will destroy the company. Mike will get cash/assets, but not what he really wants, Lionel's name and TMCC . It was designed that way. TMCC will continue and it will be in LIONTECH's best interest to expand licensing and/or find another brand of trains to be the TMCC flagship and Wellspring will have the name for sale but my guess is that base has been covered with a right of first refusal clause.
