I have both the K Line and Greenburg books. The K line has some diagrams and info the the Greenberg book does not have.

As far as I know, the Aurotec book is not a collectors item.
Even if it were, how much could it be worth with a bad binding?

Some people ask crazy money for the Aurotec book.
I have seen clean copies for as little as ten dollars.

I have the Aurotech version from 1978.Is it the same as already mentioned ?

It seems to have quiet a bit of info in it ( 732 pages). My late Dad,then myself could never keep the pages in place, they just started falling out like crazy.

Opinion: would it hurt the value of the book if I took a page hole punch and put it in a binder,or leave it be,or simply just buy one of the fore mentioned books ?

Thanks for the honest answer about both books.  My main reason for the purchase of either book was for a quick reference to part numbers.  As I stated in original post, I already have the K-Line manual. When I need a part number that I can't find in the manual, I pop onto Olsen's Library.  So, thanks again CW and Larry.

To be clear: Both publications are abridged reprints of the Postwar Lionel Service Station repair manual, issued by Lionel for their authorized service stations.

Greenberg also published a large format, four volume reprint.
Most folks will find everything they need in the small format reprints.
And even the large format four volume reprint does not have every page..

Comparing both manuals, there are no major differences. They both have a few pages of minor importance that the other does not have. For major info, they both are the same as far as I can tell.

I am curious about the K-line/Aurotech manual VS Greenberg's Repair manual, as to which would be considered the better of the two.  Is Greenbergs manual a better choice over the K-Line book, as far as overall completeness.  I have the K-Line book, but wonder if Greenbergs book is better choice.
