Wiring a Scaletrax Infra-red sensing device??
Posted by Dana on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 4:39 AM

I have a new Scaletrax infra-red sensing device made by MTH.  I am not having any luck getting this thing wired to respond.  I am trying to use it with a MTH Operating Passenger Staation.  Some of you have posted that you are able to use this with several accessories at once.  Could you please tell me in simple language have you have this thing wired to so so.  I am new to the group and all thumbs when it comes to this kind of stuff.  Thanks!  Dana

Welcome to the forum.

Have you hooked up the accessory to the manual switch and confirmed the accessory works properly? The hookup to the ITAD is very straightforward also. The instruction manual for the station is here, and the manual for one of the ITAD's is here.

Infrared devices are not activated when the beam and detector are aimed at parts of equipment that is flat gray or flat black.

Thanks for the information.  I did manage to get it wired so it would work for my accessory.  How does one wire more than one accessory to one Scaletrax infra-red device?  Thanks! for any input on this ahead of time.  Dana
