AF 3/16th K5 #561
Posted by SodakSJ on Thursday, August 28, 2014 9:51 PM

Hi,

I recently was able to purchase a very nice AF 3/16th K5 #561 that runs beautifuly.  Thereis just one problem: both sides lack the eccentric crank and rod.  Can anyone direct me toa possible source.  Does anyone know if the S scale K5 linkage might work?

Thanks so much,

Michael

You can give Leventons, Olsens, Portlines or RFG a call and see if they can give you a lead to prewar '0' gauge parts. Not very likely you will find many parts for '0' gauge AF. Nice engine.

Michael - I took some measurements from a Hudson 322, a Pacific 312 and compared it with my 561. The side rods and crossheads were the same length. The crosshead guides were different lenths.

So I would say that some of the parts are interchangeable but not all. Good luck and please let us know how you made out.
