Apparenty this is a story going back to June of this year

A sick boy who has a incurable disease wants to drive a Real Steam Engine

Last time I saw Gasoline Al;ley Rover was a boy   now hes married with a son and the sons wold be girl friend is the boys sister

While searching this out I found out online that the strip showing toy trains was reprinted in the April 2004 issue of the Lion Roars

I am pretty sure the strip was first in papers years earlier for I cut it out and saved it and framed it but the picture is somewhere in my mess of things

AND mine is missing two panels

We don't get "Gasoline Alley" where I live, but I understand the fellow who does it is a big-time railfan.

Gasoline Alley also once did a strip on the joys of Flyer and Lionel trains

I don't know about you; but it irritates me when people draw trains with little resemblance to real life.  One thing that particularly sets me off is trains drawn as no wider than the track gauge, when they are actually substantially wider than the ties.  That one got a deaf woman, who apparently thought she was walking safely alongside the track, killed here in Austin a few years back.

But look at this Gasoline Alley comic strip!  The locomotive is filled with correct details, including even the crossing signal--"whooo whoo! who-whooooo"--coming right out of the whistle on the steam dome!
