Can someone clarify the confusion I see in the 1999 Lionel Classic Trains Volume 1 catalog on page 22. There listed is the Chicago Northwestern 3005 Traditional (6-28000) and the Chicago Northwestern 3006 Command Control (6-18093). The picture to the right shows the locomotive with the 3005 number. I recently purchased the Chicago Northwestern (6-28000) with the number 2908 on the engine. I have also seen the 6-18093 with Command Control stated with the number 2908 on the engine. Was there ever a Chicago Northwestern Hudson numbered with 3005 or 3006? Or were they simply all numbered 2908?
To add to the confusion the 2010 edition of Greenbergs pocket pricing guide has the 6-18093 listed as a C&NW 4-6-0 Camelback Locomotive. This also shows up on the Walthers website as a Camelback, of course not available. The pricing guide shows the 28000 as a C&NW 4-6-4 Hudson Locomotive "3005".
Thanks for any insight on this.
