There was no practical way to get a decent angle of that Standard gauge loop that runs just below the ceiling. Besides that, it really didn't add any visual impact.

However, there are several pre-war tinplate items shown such as the Lionel Station, the Hellgate Bridge, and the 438 Signal Tower that were originally issued during the Standard Gauge era. Do they count?

The on sale date is 2 November, copies are in the mail to subscribers. We had some advance copies from the printer at York.

As they said at the end of the 1950s flick "The Thing from Another World," "Watch the skies."

The Std Ga. layout runs around the ceiling (see the upper right corner of the lead photo on page 66).

Am I missing something but I don't see any Standard Gauge on this layout?
