I know there have been a few other posts regarding the block signal, however no wiring diagrams have been posted. I've been working on rewiring a Lionel 99N block signal and I thought I finally had the wiring correct, but when trying to test it, I can't get it to work. Does anyone have both an internal wiring diagram and an accurate diagram of how to connect it to the track? I thought I had it set up correctly, but I want to double check.
Also - I was testing with tubular track and lock-ons. But I'd also like to know how (and if it's possible) to connect the 99N to a realtrax ITAD.
Any assistance/advice greatly appreciated! (And I'm sorry if this isn't the correct spot for this question, I'm fairly new to posting to the forum. THANK YOU!
Here's the straight poop from Lionel. Are you using a contactor? Unfortunately there's no internal schematic for the 99N.

Thank you so much for the wiring diagram. The one I have (had) had four fiber pins instead of just two, and did NOT use the contactor. I will try my signal set up like this to ensure it is working, then I'll have to figure out how to set it up with the realtrax I.T.A.D. (That's how the owner wants it hooked up - I'm fixing it for him. Really throws a wrench into things!)
Thanks again for the diagram!
Question is there a difference between this one and the postwar version 153 like some modern electronics?

This one is a pre-war, so no modern electronics... The newer versions by MTH have modern electronics, which I was hoping to get some wiring tips from looking at a newer one, but b/c of the electronics inside vs the older bimetallic strip, it doesn't help me at all.
Glad to be of help. As I understand it, the 99N circuitry is much the same as that found in the 82N semaphore, both utilizing the bi-metallic switch to stop and start the train automatically. The 99N utilizes the contactor to control the lights between yellow and green...when the insulated section of track is empty the light is red. Likewise, the contactor controls the 82N's solenoid to move the semaphore arm. The circuitry is kind of one step beyond that found on the various train control stations made by Lionel.
rt,
The 153 signal does not have the "train control" ability of the 99N. It's simply 2 lights that require a contactor or comparable train actuated switch, like the Lionel 153IR controller, to cycle between green and red.
