As an additional note, Marx engines with the larger gears on the wheels don't play well with FasTrack 90° crossings...

Jim, may I suggest getting some Marx switches to run with your Marx trains?  They'll fit in the same space as a similar Lionel O27 switch...

In my post above I should have said that the Marx trains I was running were from the 1960's . It was a freight set led by a Marx E8 from about 1961. It was painted for New Haven. Your trains may be different.

Marx locos with "fat wheels" do not work well with 1122 switches.  I don't know about 1121 switches.  The metal Marx switches should work OK as they don't have any guard rails.

The Marx engines work fine on Lionel 1024 manual and 1121 remote switches, not so well with 022 - 042 - 711 - 712 and 1122/1122E/1022 switches due to the guard rails required with the frog.

I  used  1121  Lionel switches from  the mid  1940''s  to 1960's for my marx trains . It's the wheels with the gears on the side that makes it  harder to go through the switches, my Marx switches were only manual. hope this helps . You  should be able to pick 1121 switches on E-Bay they were tough.      Graeme

What Lionel switches do they not like? I used to run marx trains over 1960's Lionel 027 switches without any problem. I think these were #1122 switches if I'm remembering right. Also, Marx made 027 switches back in the 60's. You might could still find them on ebay or at shows.

I am running three Marx trains. They don't like the Lionel switches but I would like to know if any of the other track systems available are friendly to the Marx engines?
