Race Day this weekend, Nascar, Indy, and NHRA
I am a person with a very active inner child. This is why my wife loves me so. Willoughby, Ohio - the home of the CP & E RR. OTTS Founder www.spankybird.shutterfly.com
That's quite a line up of cars Spankybird.
I have one of a different nature. I recently completed a project to convert the trucks on all of my 20+ Flyer house cars.
I'm not going to say where I get the replacement trucks, as I don't want to start a run on the market. I have enough issues getting them for the price I am willing to pay, as is. I've also successfully converted two tank cars.
Next I plan to tackle my several hoppers, that is going to be a challenge because the manner in which the trucks are attached to the hopper car mean I'm going to need a much longer screw than comes with the truck. This could be a head scratcher.
I have figured out what is wrong with my brain! On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!
In keeping with the race track theme, here is my race track.
Also my departed AT&SF 2-10-10-2 which left town several days ago on it's way to a new home. It is pulling an MTH 8 car Santa Fe passenger set. Guess I will have to switch to modern Diesel power, (modern for 1957 that is).
Forgot to post this:
Remember our Vet's.
Wow, a B-17 overflying a 48 star flag. Either that's a vintage photo or someone really did their homework.
An aside: Remember how everyone put out their flags after 9/11? I saw a lot of flags displayed locally that apparantly hadn't seen the light of day in decades. How'd I know? They had 48 stars on them!
And they were like new!
The 48 star flag, 1912 to 1959. Not for nothing has it been called the "Flag of Liberation."
Yes, a salute to all veterans and especially those who have fallen in battle.
My fathers ship, the Evans, was blown out from under him during WW2. He had scars on his legs from where he was wounded.
Not sure how to do video's so will try 2 different ways and see if either work
