Yeah, Tom. I'm still waiting on my diner and billboard too. I don't think it will ship until sometime in 2005.

Tom,
Are you saying you paid for a 2004 membership and have never received the billboard and diner? [:0] I was thinking of a 2005 K-Line membership for the CSX SD70, but I don't think so until I hear you have a billboard and diner in your hands. [:0] [^] Thanks for the heads up.

I don’t know if you ever saw my post on the Garden RR forum on Trains.com, but I’ve learned my lesson. [B)]

This pre-pay/pre-order business is for the birds. (Excuse me Spanky [:)] ) Why does is seem that every model railroad company big or small seems to find a way to upset its customers? The only thing I can think of is the marketing guys are running the show and they never talk to the operations people who get the product made. Williams seems to be an exception for the most part

Hi Buckeye,
You got it right, so far, I have NOT received it. In years past, they have ship the club membership in late spring or summer. I have belonged to the K-line collectors club since it began back in 96 or 97. I have also belong to the MTH collectors club from the beginning.

If you order the engine, they will only charge your card for the basic $60.00 and the balance when the engine ships.

Tom,

It is my undrstanding that if you order ONLY the engine with your membership, you will be charged the full amount (dollar amount depends upon which engine ordered) for the engine immediately. If two engines are ordered, one is charged immediately and the second (limit is two) is charged when they ship. To delay charge for the engine(s), some other item must be ordered as your initial membership premium. Then later, (price increases $25 after 12/31/04) order the engine(s) and you will be charged for them when they ship. Delivery of these engines is scheduled for December 2005.

Then they have change there rules. [B)] And they can, it's there rules.[8D] In years past, they charged when they shipped. I like the old rules better.[:D]

This little charade seems almost like a scam. [:0] In reading the membership information, I don't see where they say that they are going to deliver the item to you in 6 to 12 months. [?] As I read the membership information, I would believe as soon as they get their money, the engine or accessory would be shipped.

I love this club, but I notice they are shipping later and later each year. Given the popularity of this club from what I have seen and the people at K-Line I have spoken with, why is that?

I like the engine though.

Not much different than the MTH club, except there you get a purple freight car for $50, and K-Line you get a scale engine for $100.

QUOTE: Members automatically receive the car that matches their Club membership (RailKing®, Premier, Tinplate or RailKing One Gauge) and have the option to collect one each of the other Club cars as well. (Note: All the Club Cars begin shipping in the Spring or Summer of the year of your membership)
