Andy, don't tempt me!  Ha!  On the plus side, it would put out a lot of smoke... on the minus side, I would have to lay a 1/4 mile of straight track so I could run it...

Seriously though, that is a "Royal Spitfire" control line airplane engine from the 1950's.  Apparently, the Royal Spitfire is the larger .065 version of the .049 Spitfire.  It was given to me by a friend of mine... it was actually his brother's from when they were little shavers.  I think it adds a bit of interest to the clockwork layout; plus, it looks right at home next to the Marx Lumar Construction Co. building.  It is resting on an old 3 rail lock-on with a 1922 patent date - the only lock-on used on the windup layout!  Big Smile

James,

Are you planning to put that little glow-plug engine in a Marx CV? That ought to be a screamer!  lol

I like your little clockwork layout.

I always enjoy SPF... Silentman, your layout is looking good!  Here is my contribution to this weeks SPF - a Red Marx Mechanical Whistling CV with a passenger train, waiting patiently at Union Station:
