If you have a Lionel 260 or two in need of red lenses, and a) don't have a train show handy or b) don't want to pay eBay/mail order shipping costs for a 75¢ lens, it's Radio Shack to the rescue!

Here's how it's done:
1) Dismantle the lamp assembly as shown. There is a bayonet base holding in the resistor and neon lamp assembly.
2) The lens by itself drops into the bumper casting, so you'll have to trim the top of the casing as shown below (with the neon bulb reinstalled AFTER cutting), then cut a couple of 1/8" x 2" or so strips of electrical tape. Wind this around the outside of the casing to act as a shim.
3) The finished product in action. Enjoy!
