MTH is only showing their set catalog. They release their full one the week of York.
Lionel usually has their release just before York, so I would expect both of them sometime in April.

Excuse me while I go have my heart attack...
Hey, better sooner than later.
Since Lionel started the club and all received our catalogs through the mail I did not give it much thought. But now I have mesothelioma I did not renew as I am using all money on co-pays.
I was at our train store (Market Street Hardware-Toytown) several times this week getting my Silver Streak repaired in Portsmouth Ohio and the 2013's were all I saw.
My right lung is to be removed Monday, hopefully the 2014 catalogs will be in the store when I get back!
Best of luck to you David on your "passage through the narrows."
Fair winds and following seas to you sailor!

Thanks for the update. As soon as I get out of the house it will be a visit to our train store!
On the Lionel website there will be catalogs posted on Monday.

I actually liked many of the things in the Ready to Run Catalog and I think it shows they're trying to reach children in other ways besides Thomas, although that "Pet Shop train" reminds me a little of the girls set. As an 027 operator (and one who cannot at this time change to a larger radius), I am a bit concerned/confused that all but I think 3 set has a min. radius of 031, including sets that previously were able to run on 027 track. I do have a feeling this is either a misprint (it lists a hand car as having a min rad. of 031, as well as those Jr. docksider sets) or perhaps reflective of the fact they appear to be discontinuing tubular track and there is no 027fast track (but there is 031). In addition, some of them don't line up with that's in the catalog vs. the database. I placed a message to Lionel and will report back. I wish I could have wider curves, but at the present time, it's just not possible. I don't know if I'll afford it, but that B&M set looks great (that set is listed as O31 in the catalog, but O27 in the database), as well as the Broadway Limited, Amtrak FT and the Jersey Central Yard Boss set. I still haven't acquired though some of last year's sets like the Chatanooga, PRR General, and the Grand Central Set (thought that was going to be a limited one...looks like not!, fine with me though!).
And although some of you may not like/are getting sick of the Polar Express, I thought the cover was kinda cool.
If the Polar Express brings in the younger people, more power to it. We need younger toy train buffs to preserve the hobby.
If you look at the RTR catalog it appears they are no longer manufacturing tubular track, the minimum radius for FasTrack is now O31, so that is why you no longer see O27 min.

that's what I'm thinking, but if that's the case, then how would one know if it can really negotiate O27 curves?
Tubular is still listed in a separate catalog.
Some really nice Legacy steamers but I cannot justify paying those prices for a toy that will not have parts available in just a few short years. Perhaps a diesel or 2.

EDIT there seems to be 2 threads on the catalog???
but it says "limited availability, get yours today" I'm taking that to mean they're discontinuing it, that's at least how it's been when other manufactures say that. And as much as I think tubular track has a great, classic look to it, you look around the industry, it seems that what everyone else is doing are 1.) tracks that have molded roadbed like Fast Track, MTH's system, and now Bach/Williams has EZ track or 2.) Gargraves style track like RMT has offered.
Actually all the track is limited to what the dealers order. Word is they have to order in advance what they think will be sold in the next year or two. Yes I said years. Track production will only be run once after that the track shelf in the store will be empty.
