Prewar 0-4-0 switcher #1662

I have an O-27, 0-4-0 switcher (cab number 1662)with a slope back tender that I have had since the late 1940's. Years ago, Classic Toy Trains had an article on how to build this loco into a detailed 0-6-0 loco. I did that rebuild, and the engine is great on my layout. My question today is as follows: does anyone know how this engine and tender was originally released by Lionel. Did it come individually or as a set? And if it came as a set, what was the consist of that set? Also, which year (s) was it released? I recall seeing this train at a TTOS, Pasadina, Ca. train show in the 1980's. The owner informed me I was looking at the original set consist. Are any pictures available. Thank you all for any assistance with this quest.

The 1662 was originally introduced in 1940, and also available until 1942.  The initial release used a 2201T tender, and was also available with a 2203B tender.  The attached website shows a set that was sold, by DAKOTApaul with Loco, tender and 3 cars.  Don't know if this is what you are looking for, but worth the look.

I looked this engine and freight cars up in Greenberg's pocket price guide and here is what I found; the engine is 027 and the freight cars are O gauge because of the electro-magnet couplers with solenoids being used in them. Looks like a person who is a pre war beginner put this set together!

Hello Teledoc, Thanks for your timely reply. Sorry it has taken me over a month to say thank you. Your reply was exactly what I was looking for. The pictures on the link show what I have/had. Ha. As I stated I converted this loco to an 0-6-0 with some neat detail from a CTT article long ago. I don't remember the tanker or caboose, but all I have remaining is one half of the crane boom from the crane car. Thank you again. Nickelplater
