Hello I'm new to these forums. I have a Lionel 8142 from 1971 or 72 with the "Sound of Steam" Tender that has a sound problem I hope someone can help me with. The sound works great for a couple of minutes and then it gets very intermittent until it finally quits altogether. I can come back and run it the next day and it works fine. Any help would be appreciated.
Replace the now long-deteriorated foam mounting pad under the SOS circuit board with new material. They short out on the chassis with movement.
