Welcome to the forum

Unfortunately not. I have the complete line of 2400 Series Passenger cars for the North Pole Central and they are not all the same size, and some have plastic inserts and some have molded foam inserts.

Lionel sold the cars individually, except three that came in one of their add-on sets. The cars sold individually are the ones with the plastic inserts and those sold in the add-on set have molded foam inserts. I think it comes down to cost as I'm sure the molded foam inserts are more expensive to produce.

Has Lionel made most of there railroad cars and ore car boxes all the same size and just use styrofoam inserts to match the car. I bought a Lionel C&O 3-pack car set several years ago and bought another set on eBay a week ago and the boxes to each car on the set I just got was in much larger boxes than the first set I bought. The 3-pack C&O car set are the all diecast ones.
