Road striping tape mistake in March 2014 issue
Posted by Andrew Falconer on Friday, February 7, 2014 12:59 AM
In the March 2014 issue there is the article about how to add scenery to the layout. EASY TECHNIQUES FOR ADDING REALISTIC SCENERY By Kent Johnson The Classic Toy Trains staff worked both sides of a center divider to build two scenes on a 5 x 8 layout. pg. 30 The brand of tape mentioned was Pactra by Testors. Unfortunately Testors has discontinued many of their products including Pactra tape. There are other striping tape available from hobby shops. Automotive pinstripes can be used. One possible tape is the 1/12th INCH wide reflective striping tape from Auto Pinstripes at : www.autopinstripes.com . The road would have looked better if sections of the extruded polystyrene were used to elevate the roads to just below the tops of the rails on the outside of the tracks.
