Additionally, you can add some weights inside the engine as close a possible to the motor truck.

On a hunch I cleaned the wheels on 2243 - now they pull like crazy, no slippage.  Part of my tracks are really greasy-didn't even think about that.  I think I am in business.  Like the idea of two 2243 though...

Thanks, Bob

Get another 2243 and run it back to back with what you've got.  Two 2243P+2243C sets in an ABBA arrangement are the way Santa Fe ran them anyway.

I picked up a great set of Williams passenger Sante Fe aluminum 60' passenger cars.

My 2243 Sante Fe diesel (single vertical motor) cannot pull the set.  Just spins its wheels.

My 681 turbine, 736 berk and 2245 Texas Special with the single horizontal pull great.

The magnetraction is weak in the 2243.  Would a pair of traction tires help?  Anyone put traction tires on a 2243?  Need advice.

Don't have the cash for a 2383!
