Good morning all,

Happy New Year to all!  A busy day on Tuesday as we went to Indy for a laundry list of reasons and were reasonably successful.  A paid bill, a picked up repaired transformer, picking up the 2 seasons of Monk that had not been delivered, selecting items for the bathroom remodel were all done in a relatively short amount of time.  A nice evening was spent with long time friends.  I hope everyone has a good day and a good year.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Konbanwa and ohayo Chuck,

Our first day of the New Year was peaceful.  The weather was pleasant and the only time we left the house was when we went to another couples’ house for a brief visit.  They served some traditional Southern New Year’s Day food: collard greens with bacon, black-eyed peas, and cheese grits.  I’m not a huge fan of Southern cooking but all of it was tasty.  I did watch most of the Texas A&M-Duke game; Duke should have won and let it slip away.  I may wake up early tomorrow to watch more games, but fortunately the primetime games will be on around lunchtime here.

Sayonara,

Joe

Morning all.  Beautiful warm day.  Suppose to change soon to cold but no frozen stuff.

Stayed home did not hunt last day of deer season.

Wifey going shopping with her bud.

Maybe do some Train Box stuff.  Hope to have more time for that this year.

Hope all have a healthy, happy and prosperous new year.  God bless.

Happy New Year from Leavenworth KS.  I will do my best to squeeze some Lionel time in today.  Family dinner at noon and who knows after that.  The weather gods are saying 1" to 3" of the white stuff.  Have a great day.

I'm fairly new to the forum so I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I have learned so much from this forum this year.

Personally it's a beautiful morning in Southern Indiana - bright sunshine, mid thirties. Some snow on the way though for tonight and tomorrow. Of course it'e wintertime, basement and train time(actually year round but it sounds good)

Again, Happy New Year - Wayne

Happy New Year, all. Nice day here in southern Kentucky - sunny and heading for the 60's. We will be heading home tomorrow - finally. We are vegging in our hotel room today, watching the Rose Bowl parade, then later, the Rose Bowl. GO GREEN! We will probably get out to check our property here between the parade and the game. Monday, on the way here, we stopped at the Train Express shop in Indianapolis. Picked up a MPC era Blue Comet baggage car to fill out the Blue Comet train I got earlier this year. Also got a MKT boxcar and a few other odds and ends. All for now.

I wish all my fellow train folks a Happy New Year!

My wife and I stayed awake last night till midnight, watching a DVD of Cats (the musical play), then went outside to blow horns, ring bells and otherwise make obnoxious noise to drive away the demons of bad luck for another year.

I can't stand the TV "coverage" of the Rose Parade any more, so this morning I watched it on a live webcast.  Much better!

We are counting our New Year blessings.  Not the least of which is that, being now both retired, we don't have to get up early tomorrow and go back to work!  Instead, we will turn again to the hobbies and avocations that mean a great deal to us.  We may go to see The Hobbit, part II, tomorrow, if the weather cooperates.

The next scheduled train show in our area is in early March.  Never too soon to make plans!

It's a beautiful sunny day here in Southern California.  Rose Parade has been viewed, great to have Vin Scully for the Grand Marshall, black eyed peas are cooking on the stove, cornbread is done, and waiting for Rose Bowl to start at 2:00PM.

Happy New year to all!

Happy New Year to everyone! the wife and I stayed up to ring in the New Year last night and I fired up the layout and blew the train horns using my Legacy and 99 engine command so it was a ruckus. Watching the Rose Bowl now and ran some of my LionMaster steamers on the layout prior to the start of the game.

Good morning all,

Spent a pleasant day mostly at home.  Watched "Throw Momma from the Train", ran both the 384E Classic and the O-27 layout, and started building the LEGO Haunted House.  Much easier to build as the part packets are labeled according to which phase of the construction that is needed.  Very relaxing.  Big snow coming to SE Indiana perhaps.  May delay our trip to Cincy by a day or two.   Could get used to this non-working lifestyle.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Morning all. Cloudy and chilly but not cold.  Big rain and then temps DROP!  Some Town stuff and that is it.

Had one good thing this AM.  CBS news had a live video from Columbus OH.  Showing SNOHIO.  I smiled and thought of "you know who". Laugh

Jack, sounds like you are in for a tough one.  Stay warm and dry.

Chat later.

Mornin' boys.  S'posed to start out as rain, and end as snow in the Mid-Atlantic region.  I'm still on vacation, so I don't care what it does.  Grandson is here all day.  He's dressed like Uncle Si...Laugh  I've been calling him Duckling Commander.  Clown  I threw a loop of Fastrack under the tree, and he has been "exercising" some of my Proto 1 fleet.  No crashes yet, but tis early...

Laz, Happy B'day, here's your cake:

Chef Laugh

Great day at the museum yesterday with no-pileups and great lunch with our spouses, many more visitors than any of us expected. Only one slow time, I guess most people were taking late lunches.
Last day for the Christmas Trains, started breaking them down last night after reclinerizing for awhile when I got home.
Sounds like some of you are in for a ruff few days from Mother Nature, stay warm & safe.
Need to get back to work, later all !

Good morning all,

Another warm day today at 80 degrees.  Tough weather but somebody has to deal with it.

Grandson went flying with his radio controlled airplane (P51 Mustang) New Years Eve day.  Crashed into a tree top while attempting to land and had to leave it until today because it was up very high in tree.  An expert in the club met them this morning at the airfield and they were able to rescue the plane after an hour and a half of trying.  I have yet to see him fly it.  He wants to become more proficient before performing in front of an audience.  Heck, I told him that I crash trains all the time in front of people.  No problem!

Have a good day,

Ray
