Thanks Big Al!  You have given me a couple of ideas to help me move forward. I'll check for an XP emulator on my newer, Windows 7 laptop. And I will check out MI Trains as a software change. My Train Tracker has 2005 book values and, while 2005 was higher than today, it would be good to have current values.  Thanks again.

I have MI train version 3 for XP that does run on my Windows 7 computer. Windows 7 has an XP mode emulator if you do not wish to purchase new software.

I recently switched to MI Trains free hosted cloud software. You cannot transfer your existing inventory to it and it has only a small amount of images. But it's free to use, has book values, and a couple of reports to track your inventory.

Toy Train Inventory Tracking
Posted by kitcraighead on Friday, December 27, 2013 1:52 PM

My old laptop's operating system is Windows XP Home Edition. XP's end of support is coming on April 8, 2014. On my old laptop I have TrainTracker 5.5 software, which only works on Windows XP. I would like to stop using the XP laptop but am not sure what to do about my toy train inventory.  Does anyone have suggestions about another tracking software? What brand? What are its pros and cons? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
