Will have to give this a try.  Just cleaned my track with a scotchbite and then rag with denatured alcohol.  Sound like this is better.

As documented in Dick's article about cleaning wheels and pickup rollers with NAPA Brand NO. 091843 CRC Electronic Cleaner, I must say that this stuff is the very best track cleaner I have ever used.  I spray very little on the painting pad shown below and it is cleans the track beautifully.  After cleaning the track, the lights in the caboose do not flicker and it is equipped with only one center rail pick up.  The handcars run great now.  Only drawback, electronic cleaner is expensive.

This pad has the same material attached as I use to paint our wood deck.  It can easily handle any roughness handed out by a model railroad track.  I found it at one of our local Drug Marts which is somewhat like a general store.
