I was thinking the same thing, but you could look for one with a bad shell, and just swap the bodies. I think you could also use the guts from a smoking 1829 with your boiler, which would be even easier to find  with a bad body (since the body is plastic on the 1829) This is actually a project of mine for this winter. I've got an 1829 smoker frame, drive train, etc. and a 333 body and boiler front. Hopefully the transplant is fairly easy.

Looks like it may be more trouble than it's worth to convert this thing.  I'll just look for a smoking version.

I am fairly sure that you can't just add a smoke unit to a non smoker 333. You need to replace the motor and drive wheels with a set from a smoker, as there's a mechanism that works the bellows that isn't present on the non smoker versions.

Hey there,

I have a Non-smoking Marx 333 that I want to turn into a smoker.  Does anyone have an exploded view and a parts list?  I know that the smoke unit for the 333 is different than the usual smoke unit and that I need a bellows also.  Was wondering if I should look for a trashed smoker to take the parts from to build mine.

I got a hold of a smoker engine shell because I didn't want to mess up the one I have.

Thanks,
