O27 switch question

I'm surprised no one has offered you guidance yet, so I will do so.

The Forum section you picked - Trains - is for real railroading.  The section where you will get gobs of good help is for "Class Toy Trains", which caters mainly to Lionel and Flyer.

Just copy and post your original in the CTT section, and you will get the help you need.

I have a O27 gauge remote switch with 42 curve. I believe it is shorting out. When the engine and/or a car with lights passes over the switch, it sparks. The engine also slows down as if it is losing power. I believe I isolated it to the long rail on the outside straight. It does not spark when the train goes on the left turn rails. It is a simple layout with no blocks and no direct power to switch. I do have the insulated pins in right place according directions in box. Is there a way to fix this? Any thoughts would be great.
