The Radio Shack fuse linked to is the wrong size.
Bob Nelson
It's up to you. If they work, fine. They won't damage anything.
Rob
oh well do we really need delay ones?
xxlwhat about these? Radio Shack 7 Amp Fuses
Radio Shack 7 Amp Fuses
They will work, but they are not time delay fuses.
what about these?

Its lionel from China what do you expect
The fuse's voltage rating needs only to be as high as the voltage of the circuit it is protecting, which in this case is quite low. There is no harm in a fuse's having a voltage rating higher than that.
The fuse is rated at 125 volts, versus the 250 volts of the original. What difference that would make in the protection of the circuit is for the electronics experts to expound. A fuse with the exact ratings of the original does not seem to be available, hence my belief that it is of foreign manufacture.

hows this one

Actually, Rob, even though 7 amps is 7 amps, you also have to match the fuse voltage to the supply voltage. Using a low voltage fuse in a high voltage circuit may cause an arc to form inside the fuse when the fuse blows.
An 8 amp slow blow fuse should be satisfactory for this application if a 7.5 amp fuse is not available. Or a second breaker of 7.5 amps or 8 amps should also work OK.
Yes, 7 amps is 7 amps.
It's a glass MSC-7.5A cartridge. No markings on it other than rating.
I use PowerMasters with no inline fuse when connected to 135 or 180 watt PowerHouse transformers... it is there to protect the power supply from a PM malfunction(short), so I would have no problem using an 8 amp fuse. 500ma is not going to make any difference at that current.
Seems to be an odd fuse, all right. Are there any manufacturer or series markings on the fuse? Is it glass or ceramic? Do not go to a higher amperage rating. None of the major fuse manufacturers or distributors carry anything near this value fuse. May be an import.
The fuse is a 5 X 20mm Time Delay 7.5A 250V. It's an odd duck, I would use a 7A or an 8A if needed.
The fuse should have a rating stamped on one end. The owners manual instructs to hook up the cable to a "transformer...with a circuit breaker of 7 amps or less", so I would be inclined to believe the fuse would be under 7 amps. No reference to a specific value can be found in the manual, or on Lionels website that I could find. A call to Lionel service may be needed if the value is not on the fuse itself.
l have the lionel power cable Lionel 6-12893 PowerMaster Power Cable AdapterMy problem is my fuse blew today. Dose anyone know what type to replace it with? I cant find it any where.thanks
