I just got a new 2037. It ran when I got it, but was a little dirty. I took it apart to clean the armature and give a little TLC. When i put it back together and put it back on the track, it did not work. No buzzing. The only sound came from the transformer and it was the sound of the circuit breaker tripping. It tripped as soon as I turned up the voltage. I do not know what to do. Did I put something back together wrong?

Open it back up, you have a wire shorting somewhere. Try running it without the boiler, if it runs then a wire is touching the shell.

I did. Same thing happened.
Based on what you wrote you do have a short somewhere. You will just have to track it down.
Did you change any track or wiring? If you turn the engine over and touch one wire to a pickup roller and the other to ground and the breaker pops, it's the engine.
Check the rollers. One of my 2037s liked to get the rear roller stuck up and shorted against the frame.
