Here's a "Follow-up" to my previous Lionel Bridge 317 post:
As suggested by Scotie, I tried the 'Evapo-Rust' product. Worked very well. Minor rust came off in a relatively short time and the rest was easily removed after an over-night soaking. Thank you.
New question for 317 bridge owners:
The original color appears to be a gray but it is aged. If you have a nice clean version can to tell me what shade of gray is it. I tried to look at pictures on E-Bay but some come through as light gray and others as dark gray.
As always, many thanks.
The best picture to check is from www.postwarlionel.com , which shows it as a light grey. They have a stock picture, and also 2 for sale, and all are light grey. The pictures are large enough with good lighting to show the true color. Hope it helps.
Teledoc: You'd think that, after all the times I went to that "site" researching postwar cars, I think of looking there for the bridge info.(Guess "senior moments" are creeping up on me!) Many thanks for the reply.
