I've built two, and think I have 4 or 5 more waiting for assembly. As posted above, they are scale. Atlas now makes their reefers with modified Intermountain tooling. They are somewhat difficult to assemble, and pretty fragile. The instructions are somewhat lacking, but they can be assembled, just not as easy as a model airplane, as an example.

Weaver trucks are a direct fit for the Intermountain cars. Lionel trucks will make the body ride way too high.

They are scale cars with a lot of underbody detail that takes some time to assemble. But once you do a couple of then it becomes quicker and routine. It's been a long time but I'm almost sure that I mounted Lionel trucks to them.

Intermountain Railway Company Kits
Posted by Steve1964 on Saturday, November 9, 2013 8:05 PM

I have been seeing some cool looking InterMountain O gauge boxcar kits on Ebay. Has anybody here put any of these kits together? Are they 6464 Lionel sized cars? The one that I am looking at has no trucks with it. Would Lionel postwar trucks work with these kits?

Thanks for any info!

Steve
