Trainfest is an operating layout show, but many vendors and manufacturers have displays and booths. It is NOT a swap meet. The website is www.Trainfest.com and it shows what exhibitors and manufacturers are signed up. Some of them use Trainfest as an opportunity to introduce new products.
For several years now Keith Schmidt and I have organized a TRAINS.com forum gathering for those attending Trainfest as a chance to meet in person and get to put a face with a screen name. This goes back to when Erik Bergstrom was our Forum moderator, and he even arranged for Forum Member T shirts. You have to be a veteran forum participant to remember those!
Keith can find photos for this gathering back to 2005.
This year Trainfest is being held Saturday November 9th and 10th from 9am to 5:30pm. It will take place at Wisconsin State Fair Park at the Wisconsin Expo Center.
The plan as it the past is to have any of you who visit these forums to please show up at the Kalmbach Publishing booth at 12 noon on Saturday November 9th to join us for the group photo. This isn't just for any particular magazine forums members, but rather any member of any of the forums, modeling, or railfan. Please join us.
In the past we have had guests from Model Railroader and TRAINS magazine join us in the photo.
Below is the photo from Trainfest 2012, taken by Pat Shaver.

Carl and I will be there Saturday morning. Roger will be on the road somewhere. Although Kent jumped ship from CTT to Model Railroader Video Plus, you may see him there with a cameraman in tow!

Here is the photo taken at Milwaukee's Trainfest on Saturday November 9th at High Noon. We were joined for the first time by Carl Swanson. Another familiar name to Classic Toy Trains forum members "Northwoods Flyer" (Greg) has joined us often in the past.
