Knowing that you had to dismantle the layout gives special meaning to this picture...

Keep rereading this one. Get a new idea or two each time.

Thank you all very much for your kind comments and emails.
Thankfully Roger Carp called me every Christmas week for years to remind me he wanted me to do this. His encouragement always provided a burst of energy heading into a new year.
I admit I badgered Roger about wanting a cover photo and in my lobbying effort, I sent him this parody:
A few of the photos left on the cutting room floor:
Awesome. Nicely done!
Jumijo As Fifey said, "Nicely done and a lot to be proud of!" Excellent job on writing the article as well !! One of the best layouts I've seen in any magazine. Given the space considerations, the best.

I'll have to check this issue out. It's nice to see some of the members that have not posted in some time back as well.

A terrific article by a good guy. The cover photo is of one of my favorite scenes on the layout.

Nicely done, Frank53. A lot to be proud of.
Frank, even my wife, who appreciates the hobby and is supportive, but is not really into it they way we are, really loved your layout. She has accompanied me and the boys to many a train show and seen many high end layouts, and said that yours was the best she had seen, in terms of its coherence and use of space and visual interest. Really just fantastic work. I also really appreciate, and will reiterate, that you advice is also so helpful. When my kids get bigger and we do another layout, that issue of CTT will come out and we will pull the article out as a guide. Thank you again.
Got it last night. A must read article. Great job.
Knew it was due soon. Know it is good. Hope it comes today.
Thanks Neil and Pete.
I eagerly await the arrival of my copy. Frank's brilliant work has been an inspiration to me pretty much since my arrival in O gauge three rail modeling. In case I'm ever done reading about his layout, truly a Great Model Railroad, I intend to put that issue into the "keep" file along with all the MRs I've saved with Sellios' Franklin and South Manchester. I'm not the slightest bit embarrassed to be a "groupie" of both these gentlemen, in fact I'm proud of it.
Sadly, the apparently insecure "powers that be" at the website of another magazine have seen fit to delete a thread singing the praises of Frank's layout and his CTT cover. Pretty sure it was not Roger Carp's friend over there, must have been the other guy. His loss.

Really looking forward to receiving this issue in a week or two. There is a video available to subscribers as well.
Frank's work is of the highest order, to be sure.
Thanks for noticing and for your comments.
Probably the best I've seen and read. Not only is the layout superb, but the advice is unbelievably helpful. Thanks!
