Is there a way to hook this up to a old z transformer. The instructions I found for this show to ok up the red lead to a 7-12 volt power and the black to the center rail powered by your transformer.
So using a z transformer, could I run the trains off of say power 4, and then run the sound activation button from say power 1 or 2.
Thanks for any input you have
Ted
The 5906 wires run between the transformer and the center rail. Using the diagram that comes with it you can wire two of them to get whistle and bell. You would need separate 5906s for each transformer output.

I fear that Ted means that he wants to connect the center rail of a single track directly to one output terminal and through a 6-5906 to another output terminal. Do not do that. Connect it the transformer terminal that you want to power the train to one wire of the 6-5906. Connect the other wire of the 6-5906 to the center rail. The 6-5906 will blow the whistle if you connect the red wire to the transformer and the black wire to the track. It will ring the bell (of a locomotive that has one) if you connect the black wire to the transformer and the red wire to the track. To be able to do both, you need two 6-5906s.
