I just bought a Lionel 1218 A class from Ebay used. Upon running it, I encountered some issues.
Whenever the wheels get to a certain point in their revolution at low speeds, they stick and the engine stops. it looks to me like part of the valve gear isn't flowing right, but upon feeling all 4 of them, none seem particularly tight in any spot. is the a characteristic of the model?
Secondly, It significantly slows down on O72 turns. Sometimes the motors will make an odd squeaking sound like 2 things rubbing together, but most of the time it only slows down. again, is this known to happen to this engine?
Any info is appreciated

I had a 773 Hudson that the piston was coming out of the steam chest just far enough to jam the works. Wouldn't hurt to take a look there.
