The 2036 is a good engine, BTW. Not too expensive, but a nice, steady puller. Runs smooth and it's reliable too. You'll enjoy it once you've got it back up and running.

Actually the tender is a 6466 and may be a 6466T which did not have the whistle. First check to see if you have rollers between the wheels. If not it didn't have a whistle. A whistle could be added though.

I restored one a while back. It took a little tlc but it runs and smokes like crazy now.

I had a problem with my drum, it would hum and not move then pop the circut breaker on the transformer. In case you have the same problem it is the drum ($1.25 for a replacement). Hope you can use the info
Good Luck!!

Now this looks like a FUN project!! Parts are easily obtainable for this engine. If you need the part numbers, ask on the forum (Ihave them somewhere.). Hope you have fun with this engine.

Looks like a 2466WX with the rear most railings missing. This is a whistling tender.

The easiest way to tell is to look at the bottom and see if you have pickup rollers. If they're there, it most likely has a whistle. Also, the number should be rubber stamped in white/silver in somwhere on the bottom.

The best I can tell from you picture, the engine is a 2036. Most parts dealers will stock the leading and trailing trucks for it.
