Does anyone know how to replace the gears on a Lionel Standard Gauge Crane?

The drum and worm gear to paise and lower the hook.

How did it turn out? What process  did you use to get the gears out----I've got the same trouble and the trouble is the crane is a full EX to EX+---almost not a mark on it and no tarnish other than the couples. I did find out one thing about it---it's top heavy with the mast raised even a little bit, it will roll off the track if going to fast into a curve ----and I've got  72 and 54 diaminter  Std gauge curves.

I have the 6th edition of Greenbergs, but I can't find the # 219 in it.

Do you have a page # for it?
