MPC Lionel Passenger car light bulb replacement
Posted by Tower49 on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 9:25 AM

I have some vintage 1973 Milwaukee Special and 1975 MPC Lionel Broadway Limited passenger coaches, and the some of the 1973/75 light bulbs have finally checked out.

Here's my question, has anybody come up with a way to get into these plastic cars apart (roof tops) to change the light bulbs without breaking them?

I remember reading about this issue 35 years ago (as a consumer gripe), but never found a definite answer.  It looks like everything is "snapped" together.

How do I open the car to replace the bulbs without breaking them?  I have several passenger consists of this vintage, so its only a matter of time befroe I'll be changing these out to.

Its been 30+ years, time to stop putting this off!  Thanks!
