In order to set a maximum speed with your command-equipped engines, you must have a command base and be running them under Trainmaster command control.

Just so I understand your second post. If I want to set the max speed with my command equipped engines that do have factory installed tmcc, can I do it with my powermaster? Or only with the TPC AND TMCC.

By the way, at least with engines, you hit [set], get up to the desired maximum speed with the red dial, and hit [boost]. I believe that you do the same thing with the TPC, except that you hit the [H] button at the bottom of the remote after reaching your desired maximum speed.

You can't with the powermaster. You can only do this on the engines with factory installed TMCC(except for the very early issue ones with an LCRU), the TPCs, and I believe the new ZW(but don't hold me to that).

Setting maximum speed with a powermaster

I seem to remember someone mentioning that you can set a maximum voltage to your track even if you have the full 18V coming from the powerhouse. I thought you would run the engine at the desired speed then press some combination of controls that included the set button. Am I imagining this or can someone tell me the secret code?
