Thanks to Roger. The set box is clearly marked with the E.F. McDonald Co. Dayton, OH. information on the shipping label. It appears that the set number was taped over with the original Lionel packing tape. The tender is the 243W. If we only knew when we were kids what value simple boxes would eventually be.
Hi, I will be glad to help you identify your set. Please have it and any boxes handy and then call me at CTT:

I have a Lionel o27 set that I was given about 1961. Included are a 2037 engine, whistle tender, red Airex boxcar, U.S. Navy rocket car, missle car w/ verticle missles, blue gondola car w/white canisters, brown caboose, track and transformer. The set came in one of the plain brown set boxes with each car in it's own orange Lionel box. I have been trying to identify the set number with no luck.
