Sawmill 464

I have the first version of the lionel saw mill.    My problem is my thread came off the pulley tried to put it back on.   With it on the vibrator just sticks dose nt vibrate at all.  Any ideas are the new ones better?

This accessory must be run with AC. If you have it connected to a DC power source, it will do just what you describe.
Assuming you have it connected to an AC power supply:

The string should be attached to a spring on one end, and to the vibrating metal plate on the other.  It should pass through a metal eyelet on the metal plate that is crimped (squeezed) to hold the string.

If all this is so, then it sounds like the string slipped in the eyelet, or the motor (coil) slipped out of position on the base.
There should be a small gap between the vibrating plate & coil, and a slight amount of tension on the string, helping to pull the vibrating metal plate away from the electromagnet coil.

Thanks that helps a bit but i think my spring might be worn out.   The vibrator dosent have enough to pull the wheel any more it just sits there and dose northing  Is there a place to get a replacement spring and thread?
