3356 horse car and corral
Posted by Dobson on Saturday, January 19, 2013 1:04 PM
I just hooked this up for the first time and it is behaving odd. Two things happen. When the car runs over the activator piece on the track the corral activates without the switch on. Also when I turn the accessory on the coral activates and the car does not activate. The doors don't come down and it doesn't vibrate.

It sounds like the setup is not wired correctly. One wire from the transformer (the one that goes to the outside rails of your track) goes to one connection of the corral. The other transformer connection goes to one connection of the switch. The other connection of the switch goes to both the OTC contactor and the other connection on the corral.

And often cars with sliding shoes or wheel sets slightly out of gauge will cause momentary bursts of Corral activity when contact is made by the offending truck and the control rails on the OTC.

Remember to either keep your cattle corraled off with the swing fence, or keep em in the car.  Otherwise with enough trains going past, the cattle will start committing suicide by leaping in front of the trains!
