Newbie MTH RailKing 2-6-6-6 Allegheny PS2 Questions
Posted by lmxu on Saturday, December 22, 2012 9:26 AM

Hello Gurus!

I'm a newbie recently got into the hobby. The other day, I found one 2-6-6-6 Allegheny on Ebay that I simply had to have it.  The seller said originally it was equipped with protosound 1 and now he upgraded to protosound 2.

After I got it, everything seems to work except the smoke unit switch is not on the bottom of the loco as described in the manual.  See here

In addition, on the bottom of the tender, seems like it was modified for protosound 2, and there is a plug sticking out of the bottom (the white plug on the bottom of the picture), anyone knows what is it used for?  see here

Thank you all so much for your time.

The white plug is for the MTH battery charger. PS-2 systems have a battery.

Hi Kev, I pass through every now and then. Spend most of my time over on the O Gauge Hobbyist forum.
