Never heard of 4 rail track. Do you have a link to it?

I've heard of that. American Flyer O Gauge four rail track. Pre-war I believe. It was three rail track with a special fourth rail for activating whistle tenders that had a special pickup.

Jeffrey is correct.  The 4 rail track was a wider radius to accomodate the Hudson and to activate the whistle in the tender of the Hudson and the Hiawatha  This is what it looks like.
