Has anyone tried "Snow to Go" on your layout. It is a powder when mixed with water make a substance that looks like real snow. It is supposed to last a few weeks.

I have never seen that stuff but it looks interesting. I bought some stuff once from Wal-Mart I believe and after I read the cautions, I realized that it had to all go because it caused respiratory problem and possible death in small animals. I now paint with high gloss paint and add glitter before it dries.

Now I don’t have the cleanup after Christmas and don’t have to worry about inhaling it.

I just read the Safety concerns and maybe you should see if it maybe a problem for you.

I did the same thing SleeperNO6 did.  I painted the board with a high gloss paint, and before it dried I sprinked it with a product called "Diamond Dust."   "D-D"  is available at craft stores.  Looks great!
