Lionel banjo signal 140
Posted by farnold on Sunday, November 25, 2012 7:33 AM

Setting up exhibitt in our depot museum using large colllecton of old Lionel O gauge equipment.  Want to repair a Lionel banjo 140 wig-wag crossing signal.  Read a post from 2006 about replacing the rubber washer and would like to know of a source for parts, and perhaps instructions for maintaining/reparing this signal. Thanks. farnold

Lionel still sells this item, and has the parts in stock.

Many thanks for the tip. I went on-line to try to find the needed washer, but I couldn't locate the part on the Lionel site.  I had hoped to find a parts list for this signal but had no luck.

I did find a site that offers parts for this signal -- Stan Orr's Lionel Parts.  I will phone them tomorrow and place an order.

You can get that drive washer from many sources.  One of my favorites is The Train Tender and his total price including shipping will be a LOT less than Lionel.

Thanks a bunch for the tip to The Train Tender. I looked at the parts list on the Lionel site (thanks to Jon) but all the parts were marked as unavailable. I've been repairing my 022 switches and crossing gates. Was able to make a few missing parts, but can't make rubber washers!

The drive washer is P/N 140-32 and the Train Tender lists it.
