Need some help with marx trains
Posted by Trains & tractors on Saturday, November 10, 2012 4:59 PM

I have a mix bag of marx items that need some help. How ever unlike Lionel I am unable to find any place where I can look up the item and get a parts break down. Any suggestions.

Thank you.

One site I've found very useful is http://toyandtrainguides.com/marxtin.htm.  I buy my replacement parts from the Robert Grossman Company.

the only repair guide i know of is the now out of print, "The Marx Train Repair Manual" by Julio del Castillo, MD.  these used to be available from Robert Grossman, but i haven't seen them listed there in a while.  Dr Castillo died this past February, so i doubt if they will be available directly anymore, either.

Marx units are fairly simple, however, the basic design changing very little over the years.  you might try the Yahoo Marxtrain group where there is are a number of informative contributors on repair and maintenance topics, some who even dare to tackle clockwork repairs.

cheers...gary

Try Robert Grossman who has about everything in Marx.
