Postwar Bosco cans
Posted by FaceXIII on Monday, November 5, 2012 4:38 PM

I recently picked up a Postwar Bosco car and platform in a medium sized junk lot of trains. The only problem is that its missing the bottles. I know it would be tough but I'd like to one day get original bottles for it. I know that repros are out there. To avoid getting burned does anyone know what I should be looking for?

Thank you,

Anthony

Check out this complete set. You can see what you need to have. Shows the correct part number for the cans.

Thanks Roger, what I would like to know is how to distinguish between repro bottles and postwar.

The Bosco cans are yellow and brown, with red rubber stamped "Bosco" on them. The repro cans will have a decal. The cans should be NON-magnetic. Good luck finding the correct ones.
