I have one of those that I got back then. It had a pretty good 027 layout article in it that a guy built in two weeks for Christmas. He could run two trains as I remember.

There were two issues. It was intended to be on store shelves during the Christmas train period and were targeted at people getting started, or folks returning. Other than being a KPC product (even CTT had "From the editors of Model Railroader" for a while) there really wasn't a direct link between it and CTT.

Neither have I. I was active in the hobby then, I don't recall seeing this magazine.

Have a Toy & Model Train magazine....winter 86/87, from the editors of Model Railroader. Research has shown there were about three of these that came out just before the launch of CTT. This one says inside "Premiere Issue". Never heard of it before.
